Drop-in Session: Compassionate Community

Join our compassionate community for an hour of mindfulness practice and conversation. This drop-in session is a great opportunity for past participants of CCFW mindfulness courses to reconnect with classmates, continue mindfulness practice, and engage with a compassionate community. All are welcome!

Drop-in Session: Cultivating the Mind-Body Connection

We must all work to cultivate the connection between our minds and our bodies. When we tend to these gardens, we can find a path back to balance. When we find balance, we can better support ourselves, and in turn those closest to us. This session will include a stress check, a discussion about our core values, and setting intentions.

Providers Working with Justice-system Involved Families

Research shows that parental incarceration has significant adverse impact on and intergenerational consequences for children and families. In this workshop, providers working with justice-system involved families will hear from parents and providers about what families need, from researchers about the latest findings on the impact of parental incarceration on children, and the implications of that research for what we can do better. In addition, providers working with justice-system involved families can experience significant stress, burnout, and secondary trauma. This workshop will offer some tools for supporting provider well-being, as well.

Drop-in Session: Try This On For Size: Short Meditations for Well-Being

This drop-in will involve several short meditations, each designed to help support well-being no matter where we find ourselves at the moment. We will practice and have brief interactive discussions to see what worked and what didn’t, as meditation is not one size fits all. This session will provide tools to keep in your back pocket for times of stress or hardship as well as to refuel and increase your happiness meter.

Drop-in Session: Beginner’s Mind for the New Year

As we begin a new year, let’s take a few minutes to discuss and reflect what it might mean to start the year with Beginner’s Mind. This is an opportunity for self-compassion and bringing a spacious awareness and openness to our meditation practice and to our lives. We will have time for guided meditation practice and optional sharing at the end.
