2025-2026 Be REAL Facilitator Agreement

2025-2026 Be REAL Facilitator Agreement

We are grateful for your commitment to lead a Be REAL group at your institution. Facilitators will be paid a $300 honorarium per group as long as at least one student completes the first research survey. If two trained Be REAL facilitators lead a group and share the responsibilities outlined below, each facilitator will receive a $150 honorarium. Payment will be made after the completion of the full Be REAL student program. Please sign this form 2-4 weeks before your group begins and email it to the Be REAL Research Assistant at bereal@uw.edu.

Below is an outline of the key items that are a part of this agreement. Please be sure to follow this protocol while also adapting the program as necessary based on group needs.

  1. Facilitate the full Be REAL program for undergraduate students. This can include the 6-week program or adapting to 4 weeks, 10 weeks or other time frames as along as the full program is delivered.
  2. Help us recruit students to enroll in the Be REAL research study. This includes emailing students to invite them into the study or sharing student e-mail addresses starting 2 weeks before the group begins through the day before Week 2 of the program. It also means telling students about the study and giving them an information flyer before and in the first session, telling them about the compensation for completing the study questionnaires, and letting them know they only have until the start of the 2nd class/session to complete the first questionnaire. A Be REAL staff member may be available to join your first class via zoom and share about the study if that is feasible for your group.
  3. Have a student resource sheet/referral list on hand for any students who may need a referral for well-being or mental health services.
  4. Send students a follow-up newsletter via email after each class (link and template provided on Be REAL Facilitator SharePoint Site). If your class is outside of the 6-week or 10-week time frame, consider sending the newsletter at times that match with content delivery.
  5. Complete a weekly 5 minute ‘fidelity checklist’ regarding what content you included in each session and adaptations needed to support your specific group of students.
  6. Complete attendance reports for each week. This report needs to include student email addresses, class date for each week, and whether or not the student attended. We will provide you with a template form to track attendance.
  7. Allot the last 10 minutes of the last group session for all students to complete the Be REAL feedback survey.
  8. Complete a 5-10 minute reflective survey at the end of your Be REAL group to share your experience as a facilitator.
