Becca is a staff member at CCFW. She currently manages the NEW Moms Connect study, which includes conducting mindfulness and self-compassion interventions for pregnant and postpartum women facing economic adversity. Trained as a doula and health educator, she has worked in health promotion since 1998. Her experience includes developing an online mindfulness program for 9-1-1 dispatchers, teaching mindfulness to women with a history of trauma and working to promote the well-being of first responders, LGBTQI+, immigrant/refugee and indigenous communities.
Wanting to bring the benefits of her personal mindfulness practice into her work with families, Becca trained in Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting with Nancy Bardake, the program’s founder. She has been delighted to teach MBCP in Seattle since 2013. She now serves as faculty for the Mindful Birthing and Parenting Foundation, providing training and mentoring for new mindfulness teachers. She also completed the MBSR teacher training intensive through the UCSD Center for Mindfulness in 2019. She has a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Washington with certificates in Maternal and Child Health and International Health.
