This is a monthly Community Drop-In with Shayla Collins. This is for our beloved community members of: parents & caregivers! We invite you to join us for a time of mindfulness, self-compassion & common humanity! You spend so much of your time caring for others, please join us for a very informal hour (or whatever we you can commit to) of practice for yourself. Our goal is to reinforce the skills you have & to support your well-being so you can continue to give enough to everyone else, both personally & professionally. Know that! We welcome all parents & caregivers to participate! I look forward to an impactful time of engagement, community & learning.
Join us to learn about Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), an empirically-supported 8-week course that combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion to enhance one’s capacity for emotional wellbeing. No experience necessary!
An informational overview and experiential introduction to the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) class. We will explore such questions as: What is Mindfulness? How can I be more Mindful in my day-to-day life? What interferes with and prevents this from navigating with ease? Several experiential skills will be introduced. Hopefully, this drop-in will cultivate more curiosity and desire for the 8-week class series.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a scientifically supported program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D. to reduce stress and increase well-being. It is thriving worldwide. Attitudes of kindness, acceptance, and patience provide a foundation for the practices of sustained focus, self-regulation, and self-exploration. A greater sense of balance, choice, and freedom is cultivated.
We are sorry, this course has been cancelled. View our Events Calendar for other CCFW courses, workshops, and drop-ins.
