As we begin a new year, let’s take a few minutes to discuss and reflect what it might mean to start the year with Beginner’s Mind. This is an opportunity for self-compassion and bringing a spacious awareness and openness to our meditation practice and to our lives. We will have time for guided meditation practice and optional sharing at the end.

Short Course in Mindful Self-Compassion

Yaffa And Foxy

Mindful Self-Compassion or “MSC” is an empirically-supported program developed by Drs. Chris Germer and Kristin Neff. This 6-week version has been adapted as an intimate online offering. In this 6-week program, participants will meet once a week for 1.5 hours and will learn MSC skills through activities such as meditation, experiential exercises, short presentations, group discussion, and home practices. No experience with mindfulness or meditation is required.

Seattle Children’s Free Online Mindfulness Groups for Parents and Caregivers

Odessa Brown Mindfulness Group

A team of parent leaders and partners from Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic and the Arc of King County have created a culturally relevant mindfulness and compassion program. Join them for an opportunity to connect with other parents and share strategies to cope with challenges. They offer weekly drop-ins on Wednesdays, Soul Sundays for the Black Community, and short meditations in Spanish and English.
